General Information:

What does it mean when you say Cosmic Rift is in beta?
This means that it is still being worked on. New features are being added all of the time. This also means that any opinions or problems you come across would be very helpful to us if reported to cosmicriftmail@station.sony.com.

How long will it take to download Cosmic Rift?
Cosmic Rift is approximately 20 MB. The faster your connection, the less time it takes to download.

Will you be adding new arenas to Cosmic Rift in the future, like Infantry?
Yes, Cosmic Rift is an ever-evolving game. New arenas, weapons, ships, etc. will be added all the time.

Do I need a 3D accelerator card to play?
No 3D card is required to play.

I'm having trouble downloading Cosmic Rift and the Station LaunchPad. What should I do?
If you are having trouble with the Java Downloader, try right clicking on the "Download" button. In the pop-up menu, choose "Save Target As..." and save the LPPatcher.exe file in a folder you can find. You can run this file to install the LaunchPad.

Gameplay:

How do I create a banner?
Enter the menus by hitting Escape. Choose Game Functions, then Edit Banner. There you will find a template for creating, and importing or exporting a banner.

Are my handles from Infantry reserved in Cosmic Rift?
Yes, the Alias' carry over between Cosmic Rift and Infantry.

Can I use a joystick or gamepad to play?
Yes. At the server select screen, click on View, then Keyboard/Gamepad Configuration.

What is the difference between a squad and a team?
A team is what you play on during a single gaming session. A squad is an organization you belong to that carries over from game to game.

Are there team chat channels we can use?
Yes, type // before your message to talk to your team only.

Am I able to communicate with players in Infantry from within Cosmic Rift?
It is possible to send private messages between players in Infantry and players in Cosmic Rift.

Can I change ships in the middle of playing?
Yes, but be aware that your new ship is vulnerable upon reentering and must regenerate its energy.
