Front End/Zone select Options
When you enter the Front End/Zone selection screen, there are several drop down tabs on the top right of the window. The function of each is as follows:
File:
Ping Route to Server: This utility allows you to see if there is any Internet related problem between our servers and where you are connecting to the Internet.
Exit: Selecting this will exit the program.
View:
Options: Allows you to enter parameters on what servers to connect to, adjust chat filters, and change graphical detail levels.
Squad auto join name: Automatically joins a squad named here when you enter a zone.
Squad auto join password:The password for the squad specified above.
Chat channels: Automatically creates chat channels.
Directory server address: DO NOT ALTER
Backup directory server address: DO NOT ALTER
Detail Level: Is not used presently. Default to low.
Rotation points: Each ship is set up to turn with 64 rotations points. This option allows you to lower that setting to increase performance.
Block obscene messages: When checked, the in-game chat will filter obscenities.
Zone specific message macros: When checked, will filter zone specific message macros.
Advanced Options: Allows you to alter game performance. Adjust these settings if performance is slow on your machine:
Mouse Configuration: Allows you to use the mouse as your game playing device and set how the mouse will function as that device.
Keyboard/Gamepad Configuration: Allows you to configure what keys or gamepad buttons will do in-game. To change one, click on it with the mouse and press the key/gamepad button you wish reassign to that function. You can return to the default settings by clicking the default buttons on the bottom of the window.
Press Enter to type messages: As a default, typing letters/numbers will enter those letters/numbers into the chat area to be sent as chat messages when ENTER is pressed. Checking this box allows you to define letters/numbers as in-game function keys. In this case, pressing ENTER would open the chat area and allow you to type letters/numbers to be sent as chat. Note that you will not be able to use the letters/numbers as their assigned in-game functions until you press ENTER to send the chat message.
Resolution:
Allows you to configure the resolution in which the game will run. Increasing the resolution is recommended if your machine can handle it. If the game performance it low, decrease the resolution. Clicking on the Windowed option allows you to run the game in a window.

Profiles:
This allows you to store customized Cosmic Rift settings to different profiles. This includes key settings, chat, etc. This is best helpful when multiple people use the same machine to play the game but prefer different settings.

In Game Options
To access in game options, press Esc.
Charts
Score Online Players: Lists the scores for all players in your zone for all games they have played in that zone-type.
Score Last/Current Game:Lists the scores for all players in the zone you are presently in for the last or current game.
Score Top 100 points: Lists the scores for the top 100 players in your current zone-type.
Players profile chart: Lists the profiles for all players currently in your zone.
Lag Chart: Shows the connectivity of the players to the Cosmic Rift server.
Game Functions:
Ship Select: Allows you to select the ship you wish to play.
Edit Banner: Allows you to create, edit, load, and trade your in-game banner.
Squad: Allows you to join, create, and maintain squads.
Team: Allows you to create, join, and switch teams.
Change Arena: Displays an arena list of the type you are in currently, and allows you to join another arena.
Create Arena: Allows you to create your own arena.
View map: Shows the map of the current arena you are in.
Join Game: Enter the arena you have selected.
Information:
Zone News: Displays your current zone information.
Universal News: Displays news pertinent to all of the Cosmic Rift zones.
Release notes: Displays information about additions to Cosmic Rift.
Options:
Font Options: Allows you to change the font sizes in Cosmic Rift.
Message Options: Allows you to change items related to the message system.
Graphic Options: Allows you to tune the performance of the game on your system.
Misc. Options: Allows you to change your view of the playing field, and how the game camera operates around your ship.
Help
Lists help files for Cosmic Rift.
Quit Game:
Exits the game.
